A Kenilworth accountant who ran over 500 marathons for charity has received his MBE nearly two years after it was announced in the Queen's New Year Honours.
David Phillips, of Phillips and Becker Ltd on Priory Road, was awarded the MBE after raising over £142,000 for the Brain & Spine Foundation.
After the disappointment of 2020's cancellation, the London Marathon finally returned last weekend taking the form of an autumn marathon instead of it's usual place in the spring calendar.

A member of Kenilworth Runners has finished in fifth place after a 235-mile six-day ultamarathon.
Andy Snow took his place among the 21 entrants to complete the Deadwater 2021 event, starting in Scotland heading through England, to finish in the sh of Chester Castle, featuring 27,000ft of ascent.

Nineteen different Kenilworth Runners successfully completed the Solihull Half Marathon last Sunday (August 15), with only Knowle and Dorridge Runners sending more members (21).
Jason Bennett was the first of 1,076 runners to cross the finish line, completing the course in 1:12:20. Emma Styles from Nuneaton Harriers was the first female in a time of 1:17:19.
