Maintain clear access paths for construction vehicles and workers. Ensure visibility and safety around work zones, especially near tracks and crossings. Right-of-Way Maintenance: Clear vegetation from the railway right-of-way to prevent obstructions and fire hazards. Maintain clearances around signals, signage, and drainage systems. Environmental Compliance: Follow environmental guidelines for clearing in sensitive areas (e.g., near waterways or protected habitats). Use appropriate techniques to minimize soil disturbance and erosion. Tool Operation & Maintenance: Operate brush cutters (handheld or walk-behind) safely. Perform routine maintenance and report equipment issues. Support to Other Crews: Assist civil crews by preparing sites for earthworks, fencing, or drainage installation. Work alongside surveyors and engineers to clear lines of sight or access points. Based in Kenilworth remuneration for this role is £17.31 per hour PAYE, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
