Kenilworth Runners dominated the top 20 of the Balsall Common 10K this September, with nearly half of the top places going to the runners in green.

Fourteen Kenilworth Runners completed the local event with eight of them producing top 20 times.

The Balsall Common 10K, which took place on September 19, was one of the few Warwickshire Road Race League events to still take place in 2021.

The race normally takes place at the end of the WRRL season and attracts numbers from all the Warwickshire clubs however with the eminently popular Leamington Regency 10k being rescheduled onto the same date numbers were unfortunately down at the event.

Matt Dyer led home the Kenilworth club in fourth place in 38:54 with a score of his clubmates on his heels as Adam, Joe, Wayne, Oliver and Nick took the next places.

Of the ladies present there were some achievements as Sandeep Purewal and Emma Clarke both ran together to help with pacing which allowed them both to secure 10k personal bests.

Vittoria Launchbury also competed and finished her first 10k race.

The race was won by Alex Jolly from Birchfield Harriers in 36:33 and there were 186 finishers.
