Here is a roundup of the biggest decisions that have been made by the local councils in the last month.

And for more local planning decisions, keep an eye out for our weekly updates published every weekend.

Kenilworth Town Council

Town councillors have paid tribute to an "honourable" former Mayor of Kenilworth who passed away last month.

The launch of an exciting new project which will bring Kenilworth's historic abbey ruins back to life is just weeks away.

There has been "progress at last" on plans to bring a former Kenilworth landfill site into public use.

Town councillors have welcomed "really positive" progress towards improving the safety around the new Kenilworth School.

Members have been left "disappointed" by the response of the new county leader to a call for support for local trans and LGBTQ+ residents.

There are two options available for the repair of Kenilworth's war memorial which was damaged in a "careless" crash earlier this year.

Warwick District Council

Over £20 million has been added to Warwick District Council's borrowing debts in the last year, new figures have revealed.

The former Kenilworth School sites have cost the district council £7 million while they have sat empty, a councillor has claimed.

Councillors have raised concerns about the new 'grey belt' and whether rural communities in south Warwickshire will be protected from thousands of more homes through the new local plan.

Solar panels, insulation and new windows have been installed at Kenilworth's Jubilee House to improve the building's energy efficiency.

The co-chair of an advisory group which will help decide where 35,000 new homes are built in Warwick and Stratford districts has said he must step down as he criticised the council's hierarchy of "actively seeking to kill it at birth".

The former leader of Warwick District Council has been criticised for revealing confidential information that £10 million is set to be invested in putting the highest environmental standards into new council housing in Kenilworth.

Alison Firth will be a councillor once again after the Green Party won the Kenilworth Park Hill by-election.

Warwickshire County Council

The politician in charge of Warwickshire County Council's finances still harbours hopes of avoiding a maximum increase in council tax despite national government "blackmailing" local authorities.

The leader of Warwickshire County Council has vowed to "make sure we get a better deal" on the overdue and over-budget A46 'Bridge to Nowhere' near Kenilworth.

Cllr George Finch also plans to shield "stern dads" from what he believes to be a "weaponised" system of social services referrals.

Local views are wanted on plans to tackle the "serious financial challenges" at the county council.

Warwickshire County Council has warned that the national pay award for teachers could "add to continued pressures and reduced financial stability" in schools.

The local authority's LGBTQ+ staff group has warned of the "deeply unsettling" effect of not guaranteeing that the Pride flag will be flown at Shire Hall.

A 'SEND emergency' could be declared at Warwickshire County Council if members vote through a motion tabled by the new council leader.
