World premiere coming to Kenilworth theatre this September

The Talisman Theatre is "delighted to announce" the world premiere of 'Emma' by Jane Austen, in a brand-new stage adaptation by acclaimed writer and Talisman patron Andrew Davies.
The production opens on Saturday 27 September 2025, in a year that also marks the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth – a fitting tribute to one of English literature's most enduring voices.
Andrew Davies, whose masterful adaptations of classic novels have captivated audiences worldwide, said: "I'm delighted to be working with the Talisman Theatre again.
"It's always a joy to see these beloved stories come alive in such a vibrant, community-driven setting, and 'Emma' is the perfect tale to share with audiences in this exciting new production."
'Emma' is one of Austen's most celebrated works – a witty and romantic exploration of love, class, and self-discovery in Regency England.
The story follows the clever, spirited (and sometimes meddling) Emma Woodhouse as she navigates the complexities of matchmaking and relationships in her small village, only to discover that her own heart is not as immune to Cupid's arrows as she once believed.
The cast welcomes back some familiar faces, including Chris Bird (who played Darcy in the Talisman's acclaimed 2023 production of Pride and Prejudice, also adapted by Andrew Davies).
Joining him are exciting new talents, led by Rose Kenny in the title role of Emma Woodhouse, alongside several other newcomers to the Talisman stage.
The production is directed by Corrina Jacob, who also directed the 2023 world premiere of Davies' 'Pride and Prejudice' at the Talisman. Corrina commented:
"It's a real privilege to be directing another world premiere of Andrew's work. His script captures Austen's wit and charm beautifully, and I can't wait for audiences to meet these unforgettable characters in our intimate theatre space."
The Opening Gala Night is already sold out, along with many other performances.
A limited number of tickets may still be available – audiences are urged to book quickly to avoid disappointment. Runs from Saturday 27 September to Saturday 4 October.
Tickets are selling fast and are available via the website or by contacting the Box Office directly on 01926 856548.
To be added to the waiting list for any last-minute returns, please contact the Box Office by phone.
