Man charged with murder in Kenilworth - police name victim

Stuart Baker, 43 of Etsome Terrace in Somerton, Somerset, has been charged with the murder of a man in Kenilworth this weekend.

Warwickshire Police said it was called to the "residences" near a business on Rouncil Lane at 6.07pm on Friday 20 December where a man was found dead "having received multiple injuries".

The victim has been named as James Bosworth, 21, of Nottingham.

Mr Baker has also been charged with possession of class A drugs and will appear at Coventry Magistrates Court for his first hearing on 23 December 2024.

"We are looking for witnesses who can help with our investigation, which is ongoing," Warwickshire Police said.

"This follows the report of a death at a residence near a business in Rouncil Lane in Kenilworth on 20 December.

"This was reported at 6:07pm, and officers arrived to find James Bosworth, 21 of Nottingham, who had sadly died inside one of the residences having suffered multiple injuries.

"Following this at 6:30pm, a man was arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of class A drugs. 

"If anyone was witness to these events, particularly if they had contact with either the victim or the suspect before or around the time of the incident, they should contact the police as soon as possible citing Incident 318 of 20 December."

Police confirmed on Saturday (December 21) there was no threat to the wider public.
