Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

Cubbington Cutting

The designs for a 2km cutting in Cubbington for the HS2 line have been signed off by Warwick District Council (WDC).

The high speed rail developer first put forward the plans for the 12-metre deep cutting at the end of last year.

Extending between Coventry Road and Mill Lane, the Cubbington Cutting will see a large number of trees planted along its length to mask it from view and also to replace any removed for it to be built.

Cemetery Mast

Plans to install a 5G mast next to Kenilworth Cemetery have been submitted to Warwick District Council (WDC).

If approved the scheme would see the 15-metre high communications mast installed on a grass verge on Oaks Road.

Applicant CK Hutchison Networks (UK) Limited - which owns telecommunications and internet service provider Three - said there is an "acute" need for the station to "provide effective service coverage" in the area.

Glasshouse Lane

Glasshouse Lane has closed for two weeks to allow for new speed restricting measures to be installed.

The road will shut near the new Kenilworth School from Tuesday, August 8 until Tuesday 22.

The closure, organised by Warwickshire County Council (WCC), will also see part of Leyes Lane closed.
