Parts of a downed Russian fighter jet are being sold online to aid Ukraine's war effort.

The Sukhoi SU-25 warplane is thought to have been shot down by Ukrainian military in the Kherson region in May 2022.

A UK company are now selling £120 keyrings fashioned from the fuselage of the wreckage.

Luke Franklin, of Warwickshire-based Part of a Plane, explains: "The majority of the funds then go back to Ukraine in the form or cars, armour, generators, anything they need.

"All the products are made in Ukraine then shipped to me in the UK to sell them."

According to the firm, the aircraft was accessed after the liberation of Ukrainian Kherson in November 2022.

Local residents and tractors were employed in reclaiming parts of the jet, which was then cut up into souvenir parts.

It is believed the plane was the Russian Su-25SM with callsign Blue 15, which was shot down near Chornobaivka, Kherson Oblast.

Pilot lieutenant Nikita Malkovsky is reported as dying "in the line of military duty".

The Part of a Plane listing details: "Another frogfoot in our "Red Dead" collection. Downed in the south of Ukraine, Kherson oblast and discovered during its liberation by Ukrainian Forces.

"This SU-25SM departed an air base in temporary occupied Crimea to conduct assault on Ukrainian Force when it was downed by a missile in flight.

"Flight lieutenant Malkovski Nikita Vladimirovich was demilitarised as part of a successful hunt. Warm welcome to Ukraine!"
