A new healthcare agency which opened in Kenilworth last autumn has smashed company records for growth.

The Kare Plus franchise, run by Kavi Pryagh, opened its doors in the former Hays Travel shop in Talisman Square in October.

And the business already has more clients and candidates than other branches would normally hope to have after a full year.

In Kenilworth the firm is recruiting and training candidates to provide home help and to work in care homes but has "big plans" to expand into home care this year after it gets CQC approval.

"It has gone really, really well so far," senior operations executive Tracey Frisby told Nub News.

"Within the Kare Plus branding we have actually smashed records that other franchisees haven't been able to do.

"We are really proud of that."

"It has come from the hard work of everyone," Kavi added.

"Normally it would take a franchise a year to get to where we are now.

"I think the setup is already there to grow the business and means the clients and the candidates have a much better experience with us."

The fast growth of the business is even more impressive given the team were forced out of their shop at the start of the year due to a major leak from the flats above.

"It has been a setback because we had to be makeshift and work in the kitchen for a while," Kavi said.

"There were clients that thought we were closed, even though we were open.

"But it is one of those things and we have pushed through and now we are open again."

Kare Plus Kenilworth first opened last October in Talisman Square

Kare Plus Kenilworth, which has now launched a new sponsorship with Nub News, operates in South Warwickshire, Coventry and East Birmingham.

But having looked at a number of premises across the area, Kavi said the Talisman Square shop was the ideal location.

"I have looked at offices in Birmingham but I felt we needed to have a presence in the local community, not in a service office hidden away somewhere," he said.

"Here we can be in the local community and do more. Everyone can come in and speak to us face to face."

And it is that community-focused approach which has also been a reason for the franchise's early success, Tracey said.

"No business cannot operate without being embedded in the community, you rely on the community to support your growth, so you need to give back," she explained.

"It's about keeping things local, keeping them close knit.

"I think we already have a great relationship with the people around here, it's lovely that people support each other. It is important to get out there and be present."

And for Kavi, who has worked in the retail sector for over a decade, launching Kare Plus brings him back to his roots, having worked as a carer for Bupa for three years in London until 2009.

"I always thought at some point I would come back to the healthcare industry, because I want to help make people's lives better," he said.

"I enjoyed it, I enjoyed helping people, and I learned a lot from them. The advice they gave me helped me become who I am today.

"It was not just about doing a job, it was about getting involved with the people we were looking after."
