Here is a roundup of the biggest decisions that have been made by the local councils in the last month.

And for more local planning decisions, keep an eye out for our weekly updates published every weekend.

Kenilworth Town Council

"A new chapter for Kenilworth tourism" has begun with the launch of a new mobile app, bringing the town's Abbey to life.

A landfill site in Kenilworth which has informally been used by dog walkers for a number of years is set to be brought fully into public use.

Kenilworth's new swimming pools could open as early as May or June next year, town councillors have hinted.

Warwick District Council

The former Warwick District Council (WDC) headquarters in Leamington Spa has now been completely demolished.

South Warwickshire locals are set to be kept waiting for details on the next stage of a major planning document which will determine where up to 35,000 new houses will be built in the region.

Warwickshire County Council's quest to lead the transition to one big council is being opposed in town halls across the patch.

Warwick District Council has secured £2.42m from the Government's Warm Homes Plan to help households save money on their energy bills and deliver cleaner heat to their homes.

Warwickshire County Council

Warwickshire County Council's leader has called for Union flags and St George's flags to be temporarily removed this Christmas to make way for festive decorations.

Residents will soon be able to visit the county's Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) without needing to book in advance.

WCC reports that it is finally making headway with its staff sickness troubles – but stubbornly-high stress and mental health absences continue to rise.

Residents at a new Kenilworth housing estate have rallied behind a petition calling for improved safety around the development.

Residents are being given the chance to have their say on possible changes to free transport to school in the county.

Cllr George Finch has been accused of ducking difficult questions over his "crazy ideas" to reduce spending on home-to-school transport.

He has been accused by the education secretary of "taking our children back to the Victorian era" with his bid to change walking distances to local schools.
