Kenilworth’s new swimming pools could open as early as May or June next year, town councillors have hinted.

Work on site in Abbey Fields is currently running three months ahead of schedule, with contractors due to complete the building in April 2026.

While councillors had warned there “could be quite some gap” from when the work is finished to when the facility actually opens, a recent update at Kenilworth Town Council hinted at opening in time for the school summer holidays.

Cllr Andrew Milton said: “We asked that question at the liaison meeting.

“They [Warwick District Council] are thinking at the moment, May or June for opening.

“It is about making sure everyone knows how everything works.

“It could be May - probably June - but they are hedging their bets currently.

“Not April though.”

No fixed opening date has been announced by the district council.

Meanwhile, town councillors have continued to call on their district colleagues to find a solution to predicted parking problems at Abbey Fields before the swimming pools do open.
