Soroptimists International (SI) Kenilworth and District will be making its usual 16 day bid to turn Kenilworth orange.

It is set to time with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the start of the United Nations UNiTE campaign, and will start from 25 November until 10 December.

This year the campaign will be focused on preventing online violence, and creating safer online spaces.

SI Kenilworth has already delivered their orange coasters to many of the local pubs and coffee shops, who have kindly agreed to put them out for their customers to read about the campaign, so look out for them.

Throughout the 10 days there will be informative media posts www.facebook.com/sikenilworthanddistrict and a display in the library, whose railings will be decorated for one weekend along with some benches on Abbey Fields.

There will also be the usual popular Tombola stall and themed Christmas tree.

The main event this year will be the launch of SI Kenilworth & Districts' Fresh Thoughts' Booklet, which provides information and support for women fleeing domestic abuse.

This new resource for professionals in Warwickshire will be introduced to an invited audience of professionals, police and politicians on 27 November, who it is hoped will find the booklet useful.

Do stop and talk to us if you see us around town, perhaps decorating benches or selling Tombola tickets.
