Emergency services have been called to a number of incidents in Kenilworth today (December 4) caused by the heavy rainfall.

Firefighters were called to the ford on Castle Road to rescue an elderly person from a car stuck in the water.

"We used our inflatable rescue sled to bring the elderly occupant of the car to safety," a statement from Kenilworth Fire Station said.

Meanwhile crews were also called to Rouncil Lane where another vehicle was stuck in the ford.

Three children and an adult were rescued.

"Be careful on the roads today following the heavy rain over night," a service statement said.

"Do not drive through any flood water. Always find another way around."

Kenilworth and Warwick Rural Police force is now warning the Castle Road ford will be impassable until tomorrow.

"Ford closure Kenilworth probably throughout the night please detour Bridge Street/ High Street," a force statement on social media said.
