Oranging Kenilworth
Kenilworth
25th Nov 2023 - 10th Dec 2023
UNTIL Sunday 10th December

You may well be wondering why Kenilworth is going orange for the next few weeks! Kenilworth & District Soroptimists are joining other organisations for the UN 16 days of activism Against Gender Based Violence. It runs every year from 25th November to 10th December. As Soroptimists, our emphasis is on violence against women and girls.
The colour orange is used to show optimism that things can and will improve. So, we will be 'oranging' Kenilworth with street and bench decorations plus pop-up window displays. Some of the displays will have hard hitting facts together with support information. However, our aim is to showcase the types of actions we can take to improve the lives of women and girls. Just one example will be the handbags we have filled for the Love Grace charity. These will be given to women in the refuges in Warwickshire and women supported by Anawim based in Birmingham.
We'd love you to join us at our final event – an Orange Café on Saturday 9th December 10-4pm at Milk and Mocha, Kenilworth. We'll be there wearing orange, ready to chat about the things we all can do to make a difference, especially for women and girls in 2024. And of course, there will be orange themed cakes available for a small donation. We will be raising funds towards the Refuges in Warwickshire as the Christmas period can be an especially difficult time.
If you want to find out more about any of the events we have planned for the UN 16 days campaign, do check our website out and social media posts.
