A busy Kenilworth road has reopened after a fertiliser spill today (May 8).

Emergency services were called to the scene on the corner of Castle Road and Clinton Road around midday where the pellets had spilled off the back of a lorry.

The road was closed while the scene was cleared, but has now reopened.

A Warwickshire Police statement said: "At 11.44am today, May 8, we were called to a report that there had been a spillage of fertiliser pellets on Castle Road in Kenilworth.

"We supported our colleagues from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and Highways as they attended to ensure all was safe.

"The road has since been cleared."
