Another two goals from in-form Dan Twigger saw Kenilworth on their way as they made it four on the spin against bottom placed Coundon Court.

With the host's only victory of the season coming against Wardens in the reverse fixture, Kenilworth made a fast start and created many early chances as they looked to right October's result.

Jack Boden came close on three occasions, including an acrobatic volley narrowly going over the bar following a header down from Twigger.

Wardens best two chances of the half came either side of 25 minutes. Eamonn Richards played Harrison Wright in between however his shot went narrowly wide.

Wright was involved again when his work played the ball to Boden who passed to captain Sol Bloomer, whose shot was well saved by Coundon's keeper.

Despite Wardens being on top, twice Tom Day was forced into good saves from distance before the break.

The visitors continued to push for the opener but were hampered on 55 minutes when they were temporarily taken down to 10 men.

Wright was played in behind again and pushed the ball around the keeper, Wardens felt this was a penalty and Alex Waters shouted that fact too loudly for the referee's liking, leading to a 10 minute sin bin.

Despite pressure from Coundon with the extra man advantage they could not create a clear chance, largely thanks to Alex Bradley and Alex Cockburn at centre back.

On 65 minutes Wardens finally got their opener. A Boden corner was hit to the back post where the centre backs linked up. Bradley volleyed the ball back across the box for Cockburn to turn home for his second goal in as many games.

Coundon pushed for an equalizer, but made no real attempt on the wardens goal. On 70 minutes Fay caught a routine ball and volleyed forward, Twigger sprinted onto the ball and volleyed in from the edge of the box in ridiculous fashion.

Following that Wardens continued to push for more goals. Twigger scored his 25th of the season on 75 minutes. On his second appearance Jamie Curtlin won the ball back on the right and crossed to Twigger who beat his man with ease and passed into the back on net.

Coundon's keeper made three good saves to keep the game 3-0 in the last 15 minutes, including the save of the season off a Twigger header to deny his hat trick.

"Positives first, seventh clean sheet of the year, Twigger has now equaled wardens legend Guy Pearsons 25 goals in a year, fourth win in a row and up to fifth in the league after being dead last, behind Coundon, only eight games ago," Richards said after the game.

"But that wasn't a great performance, we were pretty awful first half and were only better once we scored and brought on Adam Hnat.

"It's exciting and frustrating, this squad can achieve great things and fully hope they do."
