Kenilworth Wardens made it back to back 1-0 wins thanks to a late Alex Bradley goal against a strong Coventry Phoenix side.
The game quickly settled into a pattern of Phoenix dominating possession and Wardens looking dangerous on the counter.
Phoenix came closest to opening the scoring 10 minutes in when a shot from the edge of the box looked like it was creeping into the bottom corner, but Alex Brown made an excellent save to push it around the post.
Despite dominating possession Phoenix struggled to create further chances as Kenilworth defended excellently.
Twice they did manage to break into the box captain Alex Cockburn made two huge challenges to stop the attack.
Wardens continued to look dangerous on the counter, with Dylan Wright, Sol Bloomer and Oliver Flynn all coming close with efforts from the edge of box.
Kenilworth went closest to scoring from Kiran Jayaram, whose 30 yard volley was turned over in excellent fashion by the Phoenix keeper.
Phoenix started the second half strongly and kept Wardens in their half, but without troubling Brown in the Wardens goal.
On 70 minutes Phoenix created their best chance of the game when ball was pulled back to their striker eight yards out, Bradley managed to get a toe on the ball, enough for the Phoenix player to hit the ball well over the bar.
Bradley was the hero again five minutes later. Bloomer won a free kick 30 yards out. Eamonn Richards crossed it to the back post, Bradley's first touch took it away from the keeper and his second was passing it into an empty net for his third goal of the season.
Despite pressure, Phoenix struggled to create any meaningful chances in the dying minutes with Wardens keeping their second clean sheet and win in a row.
"Phoenix are a good side who just came off the back of scoring seven last week," Richards said after the game.
"I honestly believe that we're the team with the best defence in the league.
"We've conceded only two goals in last five league games and today, despite barely having the ball, never looked like conceding.
"Brown, Cockburn and Bradley were excellent. Feel like we fully deserved that three points today.
"We just need to keep finding ways to score and results will continue to be positive. We've got a big cup game next week and believe that, on our day, we can beat/compete with any team in our league."
