Wardens and Copsewood shared the points in a goalless draw in the first game of 2026.
Despite missing 15 players due to injury and unavailability, Kenilworth started the better of the two sides and looked most likely to take the lead.
The lively Harrison Wright had three early chances to score, however couldn't hit the target, going inches wide on each occasion.
Dylan Wright and Sol Bloomer also had chances to take the lead, however the Copsewood keeper made comfortable saves the keep the score 0-0.
Copsewood grew into the game and were the better of the two sides at the end of the first half.
They were denied an opener thanks to two excellent last ditch blocks from man of the match Cameron Holden.
Wardens started the better side again in the second half, nearly scoring immediately. Dylan Wright played Harrison in between the Copsewood defence, his first time cross found a free Bloomer 10 yards out but his effort went narrowly over.
Wardens continued to push for an opener and both Harrison and Dylan both narrowly missed chances in the box after being found by Bloomer.
Wardens came closest when Eamonn Richards and debutant Ted Currie exchanged passes on the edge of their box, Richards played an excellent through ball to Bloomer, Bloomer beat his man inside before his shot beat the keeper but rebounded off the bar.
Moments later Wardens came close again after Bloomer and Holden linked up on the left and Holden beat two players, but his shot was well saved in the box.
Copsewood finished the game strongly and with five minutes left went in behind for a one on one, however an goal saving defensive block from Holden then a impressive save from Tom Day kept the ball out.
The game ended 0-0 with Wardens ruing the 18 chances which were missed.
"We were incredibly short today with players, only having a bare 12," player-manager Richards said after the game.
"Considering that and it being the first game in a while was really happy with the attitude and play for large parts of the game. Defensively we were excellent with Sam (Broad) and Cam both really impressing again.
"Other games this year we've not scored because we did the wrong things, today we did the right things in the box just lacked that calmness when finishing. It's frustrating because if we could finish our chances I believe we'd be 10 points better off in the league.
"Our attacking play will click soon I'm sure then we'll be getting the results we deserve."
