Free-scoring Kenilworth Wardens put seven past Coventry Phoenix to book their place in the Bedworth Nursing Cup final.
Dan Twigger netted a hat trick inside 20 minutes as Wardens produced their biggest and most commanding win of the season under the lights at Gypsy Lane to reach yet another cup final the Bedworth Oval on April 18.
The Kenilworth outfit took just 10 minutes to take the lead when Ben Edmunds beat his man to the byline and crossed, with the clearance reaching Eamonn Richards who volleyed it from a tight angle to Dan Twigger for a simple shot from eight yards.
Moment later Edmunds had the ball on the right after being played by the impressive young Hayden Twycross. The forward beat his man inside and crossed into the box and Twycross completed an audacious flick for Twigger to slide and tap in.
Twigger's hat trick was complete within 20 minutes when a long ball from Edmunds to the left reached the side's top scorer whose perfect touch took it into his stride allowing him to calmly pass into the bottom corner as he held off the defender.
Despite changes from Phoenix, Wardens continued to be clinical. A throw in second ball was won by Twycross on the halfway line who volleyed it towards Phoenix's left back. Edmunds managed to pressure the ball off the player and calmly passed into the net.
With a few minutes left of the first half, Edmunds took the ball under a lot of pressure on the edge of the box and played to veteran Roger Kingston. Kingston's goal bound shot took a deflection, hit the post and rebounded to Jack Boden for a well deserved first goal.
Phoenix made more changes at half time and tried to work their way back into the game. However on 55 minutes wardens made it six.
Jack Boden won the ball back in his own half, drove forward 30 yards before laying to Edmund's who squared to Twigger for a composed finish.
On 60 minutes wardens made it seven, Diarmuid Winston intercepted a ball and played forward to Twigger who passed home for his fifth of the game and 19 goal on total for the year.
Despite their advantage, Kenilworth keeper Tom Day was called into a number of outstanding late saves but was eventually beaten twice in extra time as Coventry pulled back two late consolations.
"It was so unbelievably great to win in front of a Kenilworth crowd, thank you for everyone who came tonight, made it special," Richards said after the game.
"As bad as it sounds, I was livid as I went into the changing room, livid that we conceded twice from set pieces, livid that we gave our clean sheet away and livid because our defence deserved that clean sheet so much.
"But when you settle down see it for what it is, an amazing performance from 15 truly great and brilliant lads. Phoenix are a really really good footballing side, they weren't tonight and we dominated from the first minute.
"Obviously Dan and Ben are the men of the match, they were completely unplayable today!
"But Roger as a 35-year-old playing out of position was perfect. And the two Alex's at centre back deserved their clean sheet, always class and always the best lads.
"Cup final is at Bedworth Oval on Good Friday - 18th April - it will be great to have everyone down!"
