A Kenilworth interiors company has helped give a luxury cruise ship a major makeover – with more than two miles of fabric going into its biggest ever project.

Aquarius Interiors, which has its flagship showroom in Abbey End, was brought in to work on Celebrity Solstice as part of a major refurbishment of the Celebrity Cruises vessel.

The project, which was completed ahead of the ship's relaunch in March 2026, is the biggest cruise ship contract undertaken by Aquarius to date and saw its team working across dozens of suites and public areas.

Founded by Warren Offer and his wife Pam in 2014, Aquarius started life in the couple's garage before growing into a business working with hundreds of residential customers across Coventry and Warwickshire, alongside commercial projects in the UK and around the world.

Warren's first commercial contract was actually on a cruise ship – Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas, which at the time was the world's largest cruise liner.

More than a decade later, the business has established itself as a specialist in manufacturing, supplying and installing bespoke curtains, blinds and soft furnishings for cruise ships.

Its work has now taken the team around the world, including projects in Singapore, Alaska, Rotterdam, the Bahamas and Australia.

Celebrity Solstice represented a new milestone, however, with the Aquarius team manufacturing and installing more than two miles of fabric as part of the refurbishment.

The company supplied 600 curtains, 93 blinds, 7,200 curtain hooks and 8,900 fixings for the project.

Warren said: "It was a huge project for us and involved so many different areas of the ship.

"When you look at the numbers involved - more than two miles of fabric, hundreds of curtains and blinds and thousands of individual fixings - you start to appreciate the scale of what goes into a project like this.

"Everything has to be manufactured to incredibly high standards and then installed properly.

"You're working on a moving hotel, effectively, so there is no room for cutting corners."

Aquarius worked across 70 suites, including royal suites and penthouses, installing new curtains, sheers and blinds, as well as bed runners and tiebacks.

The company also worked on 13 public areas, supplying and installing bespoke window treatments and soft furnishings.

Among the areas transformed was Trattoria Rossa, a new Italian restaurant on board the ship, where Aquarius installed wooden Venetian blinds alongside curtains to create a more luxurious finish.

The company also worked on the Boulevard Lounge, installing curtains around the stage and throughout the venue to help create a theatrical, Broadway-style atmosphere.

Other areas of the ship received bespoke blinds, including the Passport Bar and Guest Services area, while dim-out roller blinds were installed at Café al Bacio.

The company's work can therefore be seen throughout the ship – something Warren says demonstrates just how far the business has come since its early days.

"We started in my garage, so to now have our work on a ship like Celebrity Solstice is something I'm incredibly proud of," he said.

"There's a huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. People see the finished cruise ship and the beautiful interiors, but they don't necessarily see the manufacturing, measuring, planning and installation that goes into getting everything right."

Aquarius' commercial work has continued to grow alongside its residential business, with the company now completing projects for cruise ships, hotels, hospitality venues and other commercial clients.

Closer to home, its team has recently worked on projects including the Holiday Inn in Kenilworth and Brownsover Hall Hotel in Rugby.

But the business has not lost sight of its local roots.

Aquarius opened its Kenilworth showroom in 2020 and recently completed a major refresh of its Abbey End shopfront, which Warren described as a reflection of the company's commitment to the town.

The showroom offers customers the chance to explore a wide range of curtains, blinds, fabrics, wallpaper, upholstery materials and paint, including the full Farrow & Ball range – with Aquarius the only Kenilworth stockist.

And while passengers aboard Celebrity Solstice may now be enjoying the finished interiors thousands of miles from Warwickshire, a significant part of the work that helped create them was completed much closer to home.

From its Coventry workshop and Kenilworth showroom, Aquarius Interiors continues to combine its local, family-run roots with an increasingly global reputation.
