Three goals in the last six minutes saw Racing Club Warwick's Under 23's come from behind to beat Kenilworth Wardens 4-3 on their new 4G home pitch this Saturday.

The teams were at different stages of their preseason, with this being Racing's last match before competitive football resumes and Kenilworth Wardens starting their first friendly of the summer.

Racing started the game brightly, dominating possession with their four midfielders, however it was Wardens who took the lead. On 10 minutes good build up play fed Ollie Jones down the right channel who crossed for Tom Shanley to score an acrobatic overhead kick from 10 yards out.

Whilst Racing continued to dominate possession they went 2-0 down on 30 minutes. A brilliant through ball from Shanley played Jones in for a one on one with the keeper, the Kenilworth attacker kept his cool and slotted into the corner.

Racing pulled one back before half time when a corner from Hanni Salmani was flicked on and turned in by Warren Byfield. The first half finished 2-1.

At the break changes were made by both sides. Wardens switched to four centre midfielders and began to dominate possession, albeit without creating many chances.

Despite the lack of creativity, Wardens did make it 3-1 on 65 minutes when a long passing sequence found the impressive Jones in the box, who beat his man and slammed the ball into the top corner.

Wardens made further changes in the last 10 minutes with the game looking won. However with six minutes left Racing's Stan Dube excellently travelled with the ball from inside his own half, before his scuffed shot wrong footed both Wardens centre backs and goalkeeper.

Racing then took the game to Wardens, with three minutes left Kenilworth's sloppy play in the middle of the park gifted the ball to Beckham Walley who played a long ball to Salmani. The striker's excellently timed run meant he was completely one on one with Andy Whitehouse, despite the keeper making a great first save Salmani tucked in the rebound.

With the game square at 3-3, Wardens pushed to score a winner, but wasted a last minute chance to go ahead again.

It was Racing who were to come out on top however, as their goalkeeper threw the ball to Walley who produced an identical pass to man of the match Salmani, who kept his cool and beat the keeper to complete the come back.
