Brinklow held on for a tight 2-1 win against ten-man Kenilworth Wardens to lift the Bedworth Nursing Charity Cup.
After an even first 15 minutes - with both sides having half chances - Brinklow took the lead.
An excellent cross from the left hand side was headed towards goal from close range by Morgan Pulford and wardens keeper Andy Whitehouse was only able to push it into the bottom corner.
Brinklow quickly made it two. After losing the ball from kick off, another cross from the left was met by Adam Hnat, his clearance appeared to strike his arm, a penalty was given and despatched into the bottom right corner by Thomas Pye-Ford.
Brinklow were well on top, playing excellent football and twice went close to extending their lead.
Another cross to the left beat everyone and landed just over the bar, and another headed chance was well saved by Whitehouse.
With Brinklow deservedly 2-0 up Wardens came out in the second half determined to get back into the game, immediately playing better football and pining back Brinklow.
Within three minutes of the restart, Wardens got a goal back. Alex Waters won the ball back high up and played to Ben Edmunds who beat two players before crossing into the box for Hayden Twycross to meet it 12 yards out and pass it into the top corner for his second goal of the season.
Wardens continued to threaten, with Twigger and Edmunds looking dangerous.
On 55 minutes Wardens felt they had a penalty when Edmunds was tripped in the box. The resulting clearance was played long, Whitehouse came out and collided with Brinklow's striker.
Referee Phil Gibbons initially allowed play on however when the subsequent open goal was missed, pulled the game back and sent off the unfortunate Whitehouse. With no keeper on the bench, Alex Cockburn went in goal.
Despite being down to 10 men, Wardens continued to look dangerous on the counter with Edmunds, Twigger and especially substitute Jack Boden creating chances.
With 10 minutes left Wardens had another penalty shout waved away when James Clay broke down the left and crossed to Twigger. As he went to shoot he was pulled down from behind and his shot from five yards out was saved by the Brinklow's keeper.
In the dying moments Wardens had their best chance. Boden beat two players in the middle of the pitch and played to Harrison Wright who was free in the box. Wright struck the bouncing ball powerfully beating the keeper but rebounding off the bar, to the dismay of the Wardens players and fans.
"I'm really frustrated and proud in equal proportion," player-manager Richards said after the game.
"Brinklow are an excellent side and completely deserved to be 2-0 up at half time, they dominated the half and we didn't execute our tactics at all. We played their game and looked like a young inexperienced side.
"Second half we were absolutely excellent though. We showed so much quality and character to continue to be as good as we were even with 10 men.
"I felt we deserved to equalise and I think if we had 11 men on the pitch or another five minutes we would have drawn level.
"The four subs today, Boden, Wright, Clay and Kingston were all excellent when they came on.
"This season has been a rebuilding project and feel if we can keep these lads together and continue to develop them we can be regularly competing for cups and at the top end of the table."
