Kenilworth Wardens travel to face Coventry Colliery Reserves this weekend; a victory could see them finish the day in second place should other fixtures go their way.

Kenilworth Wardens currently sit in third place in the Coventry Alliance Division Two, ahead of their opponents this weekend only on goal difference.

Wardens and Coventry Colliery both trail Dunlop Reserves and Triumph Athletic Reserves by one and two points respectively.

The top two sides will, however, face each other this weekend. A draw in this result would therefore leave the door open for Wardens or Coventry to jump into second place with a win.

Wardens have recently hit some form, having won their last three matches in a row, after faltering in their opening two games.

Coventry Colliery drew their last game, 2-2 with Crick Athletic, and also lost 6-3 to Triumph at the beginning of the month. So although they sit on the same number of points as Kenilworth, they are not quite in the same vein of form.

The two sides can in fact only be separated on goals scored. Both have conceded 10 thus far (the joint second lowest in the league), but Wardens have scored the second highest in the league, with seventeen.

Whilst the phrase 'six-pointer' would be a bit of a stretch at this stage of the season, a loss for Wardens could in fact see them slip to sixth, depending on other results.

However, as the Kenilworth outfit have looked so strong in their last three games, it was would be reasonable to say that they go into this fixture as favourites.
