Sutton United will be toughest test of the season so far for Kenilworth Sporting

Kenilworth Sporting FC have enjoyed a dream start to their return to non-league football, with four wins from four games. However, their visit to sixth-placed Sutton United on Saturday will be the toughest test for Martin Ascroft's men so far this season.

Kenilworth Sporting have returned to Gypsy Lane this season, after the club was purchased by Geoff Harris of Coventry Plumbing and Heating Supplies.

Geoff has reinvested in the sleeping giant, building a brand new club house, and installing high-quality drainage to ensure that the playing surface at Gypsy Lane is as good as it can be.

However, Sporting have as yet only made one home appearance - a 4-1 victory over Leamington Hibernian.

Their season to date though has been the best start imaginable. As mentioned they have won four from four, scoring thirteen, and conceding just two.

No team has conceded fewer, and only three teams have scored more than them. However, one of the three sides happens to be their opponents this weekend, Sutton United.

Sutton sit sixth in the table, with two wins and two defeats from their opening fixtures. The Sutton Coldfield outfit have also played two of the opponents that Kenilworth have faced.

Sutton beat WLV Sport 4-3, and then embarrassed bottom-placed Castle Vale 9-2. Whilst it is clear that Sutton know where the goal is, they are yet to keep a clean sheet this season.

Kenilworth forward Luke Steer will surely be relishing Saturday's fixture as he already boasts five goals so far this season.

However, given that Sporting have only faced teams who currently sit in the bottom five, who share just one win between them, this will surely be the biggest test for Kenilworth so far this season.

Nub News will bring you the match result on Saturday.
