Wardens good run continued with a commanding 3-1 win against rivals RS Sports.
Despite Kenilworth's good recent form they came into the game three points behind RS and having lost to them four times in a row.
Wardens started brightly and nearly scored in the first minute. An excellent through ball from Sol Bloomer found Dan Twigger with his shot beating the keeper but rebounding off the post.
RS hit back immediately with Craig Harrison's shot hitting the post.
Twigger was causing issues for the RS defence and managed to tackle the centre back before heading to the goal, however his effort went narrowly wide of the post.
On 10 minutes Wardens took the lead with a trademark counter attack. Adam Hnat won the ball back and played to Eamonn Richards. Richards evaded a tackle before playing a perfect through ball to the deep run of Bloomer. Bloomer beat the offside trap before beating the keeper at the near post for Richards' eighth assist of the season and Bloomers second goal.
Five minutes later Wardens were two up. The impressive Jack Boden returning from injury took a corner which was met with a towering header by man of the match James Brewitt.
Bloomer could have had a second when an counter attack found Boden on the right who played an perfect cross behind the RS defence, however a bobble took it off Bloomers' foot for what would have been a certain goal.
On 30 minutes again Hnat won the ball back and played to Richards, who slipped Twigger in behind the defence. As Twigger entered the box he was fouled for a penalty. The striker took the penalty and despite the initial excellent save reacted quickest to slot in the rebound.
RS had chances to pull a goal back but were stopped by an excellent save from Tom Day and two excellent saves from captain James Butler.
However on 40 minutes they had their best chance with a penalty following a clumsy foul in the box. Day made an excellent save from the penalty for his third penalty save this season.
With Wardens 3-0 up, the second half seemed to be playing out without incident, Alex Cockburn and Alex Bradley stopping any attack before it got close to the Wardens box.
Wardens went closest on 65 minutes with Bloomer hit the crossbar from a long range shot. However on 70 minutes RS pulled a goal back from the second phase of a set piece with Harrison getting his fourth goal in five games.
RS nearly pulled another goal back, with Day making an excellent double save from RS captain Sean Wilson.
Wardens held on last 15 minutes and RS were grateful for their keeper making an excellent save by Twigger for the game to finish 3-1.
"Not the standards I want us to be at today, but probably shows how far we've come because we were losing those games in the first half of the season," Richards said after the game.
"Defensively solid enough again but really Tom kept us in the match which is great to have a keeper who's that good but equally unhappy we're giving away that many chances.
"Jacks coming back from injury at the moment but he's a special special player and when he's 100% fit will be the key to us playing at our very best. He was really unfit today and yet did things no-one else on the pitch can do.
"Three league games left and we want to finish with three more wins."
