A stunning maiden hat-trick from teenager Will Machin from his seven-over spell saw Kenilworth Cricket Club claim an eight-wicket win over King's Heath this Sunday.

The Kenilworth bowlers kept King's Heath to 126 all out as they cemented the Town side's position at the top of the ASCL Division Three table.

Henry Curran took 2-27 whilst Jono Sparks, Shyaan Imam, Matt Casey and Tom Skinner took a wicket each. Keeper Pete Huxford also took two catches, one of which a diving one handed catch.

Sam Ryan made 36, Shane Ryan 23 and Houppermans 18 for King's Heath but they were the only batsmen to reach double figures.

In reply, Kenilworth eased to victory inside 28 overs as father and son openers, Pete and Adam Huxford, set the tone. Pete was unbeaten on 51 after Adam had made 36 as Kenilworth reached 127-2.

The side's score was aided with 35 extras in a day to remember for Machin for his fine bowling spell and achievement.

Kenilworth Sunday 2nd. XI v. Willoughby

Willoughby took a 43-run victory in Sunday's friendly fixture against Kenilworth.

Spilled catches and wayward bowling cost Kenilworth dear as they let Willoughby post 199-7. Kenilworth were then bowled out for 156 in the 38th over.

Band made 66, Alcock 30, Esles 25 and Perry 20 for Willoughby.

Young Andrew O'Reilly claimed 2-26 and Christian Mortlock 2-48 for Kenilworth.

Despite Knights then hitting 32, Dadswell 23, Dhruv Vyas 19 and Yash Joshi 18 for Kenilworth, their efforts were in vain as Kenilworth were bowled out for 156.
