Kenilworth catch Earlswood with two overs to spare

Kenilworth Cricket Club's first XI hosted Earlswood 1s at Warwick Road. Kenilworth won the toss and elected to field first.

Fitzgerald and Cox however showed resistance with a 102 run partnership, Ben Cox top scoring for the away side with 67 from 120 deliveries.

Fitzgerald made 63, the only other score in double figures was 10 from Colby Snipe. For Kenilworth, it was three bowlers in the wickets as Kumar took one for 16 and DPR two for 48. Stu Cope came away with the best figures of three for 25.

Earlswood finished on 173 for seven from their 50 overs.

Kenilworth, in reply, managed to chase the total with two overs remaining and eight wickets down. Henry Curran top scored with 63 from 99 which included seven boundary fours. Joe Atkinson also contributed 43 opening the batting.

For the visitors, Snipe took one for 37 and Mohamed three for 35. However, the outstanding figures were three for 10 from Ben Cox, taking a hattrick.

Kenilworth take 20 points from the game, taking them to 51 for the season so far.

Saturday 2nd XI

The second XI travelled to Stockton Stars, with the home side winning the toss and putting Kenilworth into bat.

Wickets fell regularly as Kenilworth rached 119 for nine off their 50 overs. Matt Casey top scored with 25, along with several other contributions in the teens.

For Stockton, Boddapati and Pandya took one a piece, with Rizvi claiming two. Kansara came away with the best figures of four for 20 from his 12 overs.

Stockton chased the total in the 42nd over, eight wickets down. After surviving a strong appeal, Raj Kumar scored 30 for the home side with the highest score of the day, Hardeep Ubhey was a close second with 28.

Every one of Kenilworth's four bowlers managed to claim a wicket. Matt Casey claimed a trademark one-fer as Josh Charlwood And Dan Hone both took two each. Sam Leach returned the best figures as he produced three wickets for 40 runs.

Kenilworth add three points to their total and slip to ninth in Division 6.

Saturday 3rd XI

The third XI travelled to picturesque Temple Grafton in Cotswold Hills Division 4, Kenilworth won the toss and chose to bat first.

Colt, Ben Kelley scored his maiden senior fifty along with Nahian Syed scoring his first half century for the club as Kenilworth got to 217 for three off their 40 overs.

Stephen Kelley and Huw Sullivan also contributed with 28 not out and 23 respectively. Paul Rowe and Mark Johnston claimed one wicket each, with Johnston also credited with a run out.

Temple Grafton chased the total with six and a half overs left. Russell made 77 not out and Piers Roberts a better than one a ball 83 as the total was chased just two wickets down. Gareth Knights and Anthony Kerry claimed a wicket each for Kenilworth.

Kenilworth take six points from the game and slip to eighth in the division.
