Rain ruined Kenilworth Cricket Club's match against Solihull Blossomfield this Saturday as the game was abandoned within 10 overs of Kenilworth's innings.

Solihull had already posted a stiff 275 for eight from their 50 overs, including a superb unbeaten 140 from skipper Chris Kenny.

Kenny shared in a fifth wicket partnership with Richard Weaver who was 46 not out.

For Kenilworth, Joe Atkinson took 3-48, Stuart Cope 3-61 whilst there was a wicket apiece for Jack Howard and Steve Rhodes.

Only 7.1 overs were possible of the Kenilworth innings as rain ended the day early with the side on 36-1 and Tom Booker unbeaten on 22.

Kenilworth 2nd XI v. Bablake Old Boys

Kenilworth easily reached their reduced target score to claim a nine-wicket victory against Bablake Old Boys in a rain effected match this Saturday.

Bablake found themselves bowled all out for 174 inside 44 overs as skipper Sam Leach took 4-36 and Kapil Dubey 3-36 for Kenilworth.

Kenilworth then reached their reduced target score and posted 125-1 with plenty of overs to spare.

Chris Prophet 54 not out and Shyaan Imam 40 not out were to thank as they shared in a match winning second wicket partnership of 89.

Kenilworth 3rd XI v. Emley Castle

Kenilworth claimed their second win in a rain effected match this weekend courtesy of a four-wicket victory over Emley Castle.

Kenilworth hit their revised target of 129 in 29 overs to take top spit in the Cotswold Hills Cricket League Division Six table, leapfrogging Emley in the process.

Emley were all out for 150 after just 38 overs courtesy of a fine 4-27 for Kenilworth's Ben Clarke.

Due to a rain interruption, Kenilworth's target score was reduced to 128 from 34 overs which they reached with five overs in hand to end the day on 129-6.

Mark Stranks made 49 and Yash Joshi 25 with the pair sharing in a 50-run second wicket partnership.

It was then left to Vik Joshi 19 not out and Matt Daswell 10 not out to see the side home for another league win.
