Here are the headlines, and sports results from this week in Kenilworth

Warwickshire County Council announced that Dalehouse Lane will be closed for HS2 works at the end of the month. This will take place between Monday October 26, and Sunday 1 November.

The UK Government issued new guidelines on coronavirus restrictions this week. How this will affect Kenilworth is outlined here.

MP for Kenilworth and Southam Jeremy Wright has responded to the new rules by issuing a statement. He spoke about the importance of rules for different regions, as well as the 10pm curfew.

Kenilworth library has entered the next stage of reopening and introduced the 'Grab and Go' system Warwick Libraries have been implementing. This has already come into affect.

Community News

Kenilworth residents are being invited to join the Autumn Festival Trail this month as the town gets set to be decorated for the season. Households can enter their decorations into a competition for the chance to win a prize.

Kenilworth Lions have announced that their Pride of Lions Grant Scheme is open once again. The scheme will allow local charities and community groups to apply for funding for projects and activities that meet the criteria for the scheme.

Clive Peacock gave his review of the performance by the Fitzwilliam String Quartet at The Dream Factory this Tuesday.

Warwick Arts Centre received £483,000 in funding this week. Under Arts Council England's Culture Recovery Fund, the money will be used to help the centre reopen soon.

Sports results and headlines

Upton Town 2 - 1 Kenilworth Sporting FC - Sporting remain top of the table, despite having lost their first game of the season to Upton Town.

Jaguar/Daimler 2 - 6 Kenilworth Wardens FC - an emphatic win for Kenilworth Wardens has seen them shoot up the league.

Coventry Sky Blues 2 - 1 Kenilworth Wardens FC Reserves - Whilst the Reserves remain without a win this season, recent performances are still giving them much confidence.

Kenilworth Runners announced the results from all their virtual marathon runners this week, with 35 members completing the course.
