Here are our top picks for the coming days.
1. Legendary Joust
Kenilworth Castle, once the site of one of the most formidable sieges in English history, will host this historic sporting contest on the 20 and 21 July 2024.
The spectacle will see four knights and their horses clash in a test of bravery and skill.
Each rider represents a character from myth or legend, including the famous Sir Lancelot, who will be vying for the adoration of the crowds.
In each round, two knights will ride towards each other, armed with lances in their right hand which go across their body and over their horse's head, aiming strike their opponent's left side. Separating the riders will be a 'tilt' or barrier running down the grounds of the castle.
2. Saturday Signing
Head to Kenilworth Books on Saturday (July 20) for the latest Saturday Signing, this week with local author Angie Moon.
From 10.30am to 1.30pm come and pick up a signed copy of her new book 'Crime of the Century'.
Crime of the Century is a comprehensive book about classic rock's connections to true crime cases with over twenty true stories of classic rock musicians and their encounters with murderers, and musicians who committed murders.
Inside the book you'll find the most famous stories like how The Beach Boys met Charles Manson and how Phil Spector went from legendary producer to convicted murderer.
There are stories of how classic rockers encountered some of the most notorious serial killers like The Kinks meeting John Wayne Gacy on their 1965 American tour and Debbie Harry allegedly getting into Ted Bundy's car in the early 70s.
3. Gin & Tapas Night
Book your slot at this Friday's Gin & Tapas night at East Chase Distillers.
The gin will be supplied by Kenilworth's own artisan distillery, with the Tapas supplied by the Tapas Zampa food truck, which travels the midlands supplying us with tasty authentic Spanish Tapas, made fresh to order.
