National Grid has said it is working on a permanent fix to prevent more power cuts hitting Kenilworth homes.
Hundreds of households across the town were left without electricity on Wednesday, April 26 and Saturday, April 29, following two separate cuts.
National Grid told Nub News the first cut was fixed by re-routing the supply through an alternative cable, which then failed on the weekend causing the longer outage.
Some homes were left without power for nearly 12 hours on the Saturday, until temporary generators were installed.
Engineers began excavation works on Wednesday, May 3 so a permanent repair to the original fault can be made.
A National Grid spokesperson said: "We had a cable fault on our 11,000-volt network affecting 1,500 customers on the evening of Wednesday 26 April.
"We restored all customers within the hour by our standard practice of re-routing the electricity supply through an alternative cable.
"We then worked to identify where the fault had occurred.
"The damaged piece of cable is very near a busy roundabout, which means excavating with traffic management in place.
"Unfortunately – and very unusually – a joint on the cable that was carrying the rerouted supplies failed on Saturday 29 April, affecting supplies to just over 1,000 customers.
"Owing to the location of the joint, these customers were islanded as we were unable to get electricity to the substations that feed their properties.
"Our engineers brought in generators to restore supplies to 900 customers and carried out a permanent repair to the joint in 12 hours, at which point we were able to restore supplies to all customers. We started excavation works, so we can carry out a permanent repair to the original fault, today.
"We apologise for the inconvenience."
