Power has been restored after hundreds of Kenilworth homes were left without electricity last night (April 26).

National Grid said over 1,500 homes were without power due to a 'high voltage fault".

Power was eventually restored for most of the homes at around 8.30pm.

National Grid said the problem was fully resolved at 9.15pm.

Kenilworth Watch took to Twitter to thank National Grid: "Many thanks on behalf of Kenilworth CV8 customers for the prompt way your engineers responded and restored power and for brilliant customer updates - It reminds us all of the importance of utilities we all rely on & expect 24/7 - Thanks to all teams working tonight."
