Kenilworth planning roundup: Wetherspoon, hotel's demolition and student accommodation
Here are the biggest Kenilworth planning stories from the past week.
Tyre Fitter's Expansion
Local residents have lost their battle to prevent a Kenilworth tyre fitter from building a new workshop.
Neighbours had objected to a major extension for Tyre World on Farmer Ward Road, saying they are already disturbed by noise from the business.
Residents on Wincote Close, which neighbours the workshop, said they were "extremely concerned" about the loss of their privacy as well as increased noise.

Tree Works
A housing developer currently finishing a 125-house estate in Kenilworth, has been given permission to fell 17 trees in Bullimore Wood.
And a further 20 can also be cut back, after Warwick District Council signed off on the plans.
Bovis Homes - the firm behind the Pavilions estate on Warwick Road - had applied for the works to to complete their "duty of care" to visitors to the woodland and to the neighbouring houses.
-------------
Wetherspoon
Kenilworth residents will soon find out if a new Wetherspoon pub will open in the town centre, with councillors set to vote on the planning application next week.
The chain announced £2 million plans to open a pub at the former Poundland shop at the Square last July, and a premises licence has already been approved by Warwick District Council.
Next Tuesday (March 28) district councillors will vote on the change of use application, which officers have recommended for approval.
-------------
Student Accommodation
A campaign by local residents against "overbearing" student accommodation has led to plans being pulled at the eleventh hour.
Almost 70 people wrote to the council objecting to the 544-bed block which was set to replace disused office building Progress House in Westwood Heath.
Hundreds also signed petitions against the controversial plans which were due to go before Coventry's planning committee tomorrow (22 March).
-------------
Hotel's Demolition
Plans to demolish a Kenilworth hotel and replace it with four houses and five apartments look set to be given the green light.
Multiple schemes to redevelop the Peacock Hotel on Warwick Road have been put forward over the past few years, with separate proposals to turn it into student accommodation and apartments both submitted and withdrawn in 2022.
But the latest application to Warwick District Council could see the hotel and no. 151 demolished and replaced with two three-bedroom detached houses and a pair of semi-detached three-bedroom homes, all built fronting onto Warwick Road.
