Kenilworth planning roundup: Microbrewery, 220 homes and HS2
Here are the biggest Kenilworth planning stories from the past week.
Microbrewery
The disused railway station building at Henley-in-Arden Station looks set to get a new lease of life after plans to turn it into a microbrewery and community hall were signed off by district planners.
Community group, Friends of Henley Station, has been given permission to repurpose the building, having recently signed a 25-year lease from Network Rail.
Plans, which were submitted in January, show the brewery will occupy a space of just 22.67 square metres, with the community hall twice that size.

School Grant
Town councillors have unanimously supported an application from Kenilworth School for £140,000 to help "transform" the hall at the new Glasshouse Lane site into a "versatile event space for the benefit of all".
The application, which was the latest in a string of requests from the school, will allow it to buy a new sound system, curtains, lighting rig and lights for the new hall.
And with Kenilworth Town Council expecting to receive more community infrastructure levy (CIL) money from its district colleagues, the funding could rise to £184,500 if the new council (following the May elections) approves the extra spend.
-------------
Council Objects to 220 Homes
Town councillors have objected to plans to build 220 homes across two sites on the current Kenilworth Rugby Club grounds.
Developer Bloor Homes has applied to Warwick District Council to build 170 houses built on the 'Cowpatch' site, with the remaining 50 to be built where the current clubhouse sits.
Plans show that 3.9 hectares of public space would be included in the new estates, including cycleways, a play area and more tree planting.
-------------
HS2
Footage released by HS2 has shown the work underway creating a 700-metre tunnel in Burton Green.
Contractor Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV), has now completed the construction of the 200 metre porous portal of the major infrastructure project, while it awaits the designs for the full tunnel to be signed off.
The portal is the southern entrance to the 700 metre green tunnel, which will carry HS2 trains through Burton Green.
Once built, the tunnel will have green space created over the top, covered with trees and plants.
