The Kenilworth Firework Spectacular has now sold out as it returns for the first time in three years.

Last held in 2019, the event at Kenilworth Castle is organised by Kenilworth Round Table with the money raised going towards supporting a number of local causes.

And the group has announced today (November 3) that the popular community event has now completely sold out.

A post on its Facebook page said: "Thank you for the huge interest in our fireworks event which has meant all our tickets have sold out for Saturday November 5.

"As we are getting lots of queries, we wanted to confirm that we have reached our maximum event capacity, and so no further tickets will be released and none will be available on the evening at the event.

"Sorry if you were not able to get tickers this year, hopefully we can see you in 2023."

Having also announced that it would be giving free tickets to Ukrainian refugees living in the town, Round Table has also announced who will be pressing the 'red button' to start the main firework display.

Jessica, aged 11, was nominated to start the event having written letters to the residents at Tannery Court retirement home during the pandemic.

She also made posters with positive quotes on and tied them round lamp posts and the gates of her school and on national Act of Kindness day, she put chocolate on random cars at the supermarket.
