Nominations have opened to find the person to "press the big red button" to start main display at the annual Fireworks Spectacular at Kenilworth Castle this November.

Organiser Kenilworth Round Table is asking residents to put forward suggestions in time for the November 5 event.

Nominations must include a brief reason and the winning person will receive five free tickets.

The club posted on social media: "Only three weeks to go and we would love for someone to press the big red button to start our main fireworks spectacular!

"Please e-mail your nomination (sorry not yourself) to [email protected].

"Give a brief description (no more than 100 words) on why your nomination is deserving of starting our display... maybe they've helped out in the community, or been kind when you've needed it."

Nominations close on Thursday, October 20.

The 2022 spectacular will be the first fireworks night hosted at the castle for three years, with the previous two events cancelled due to the pandemic.

Gates will open on November 5 at 5.30pm and tickets are now available on the Kenilworth Round Table website.

The fireworks night is sponsored by Sylvesters the Jewellers, Emmerson Press and Forrest Coffee House.

Park and ride tickets will also be available from Coventry Memorial Park, with ticket holders also given 10 per cent off their order at Forrest Coffee House all evening.
