Here is a roundup of the biggest decisions that have been made by the local councils in the last month.

May started with the local elections which saw huge gains for the Greens and losses for the Conservatives.

Since then, the town and district councils have announced new leaders and mayors, while the county council (which did not have an election) has seen a shake up for its cabinet.

And for more local planning decisions, keep an eye out for our weekly updates published every weekend.

Kenilworth Town Council

The new Mayor of Kenilworth has said she wants to focus on supporting community groups and the high street, as her year as the town's first citizen begins.

Meanwhile the outgoing mayor has thanked fellow councillors for their support as she reflected on a "crazy" year as the town's first citizen.

The full schedule has been announced ahead of the third annual Kenilworth Naturewatch Week, which gets underway this weekend.

The Greens have taken control at Kenilworth Town Council, on a day when they also became the biggest party on the district council.

A Kenilworth councillor has served his final day on the town council, nearly 50 years after he was first elected.

Warwick District Council

Just six Conservatives councillors remain on Warwick District Council as they took huge losses across the area.

Warwick District Council will be run through a Green-Labour pact for the next four years – but the Liberal Democrats are already questioning whether its foundations are solid.

Before the announcement, local Liberal Democrats have said it is "time to leave party politics behind" and "respond to the election result" with a rainbow administration.

The new leader of Warwick District Council laid out four key priorities after the Green-Labour administration took charge last week.

Meanwhile the outgoing leader of Warwick District Council insisted there would be no pity party among the Conservatives after losing power.

Leading councillors in Warwick district fear it will be hard to measure the full impact of new voter ID requirements despite encountering few problems during this month's local elections.

Warwickshire County Council

A further £4.761 million has been secured by the county council to help support cycling schemes across Warwickshire.

This as well as over £400,000 which has been ring fenced by the county council to improve cycling routes to the north of Kenilworth.

Roadworks along Glasshouse Lane are not expected to be finished before the new Kenilworth School opens this September.

A councillor finished his time in charge of Warwickshire's children's services by condemning the "irregular" absence of senior figures from a "crucial" public meeting.

Three changes have been made to the 10-strong team of councillors in charge of services at Warwickshire County Council.

Warwickshire County Council is still battling the legacy of not having its own children's homes for decades according to one its managers.

More double yellow lines will be painted on Kenilworth roads, after plans were signed off by the county council at the end of last week.
