Full schedule announced for Kenilworth Naturewatch 2023

The full schedule has been announced ahead of the third annual Kenilworth Naturewatch Week, which gets underway this weekend.

The Spring Market in Talisman Square on Saturday (May 27) will mark the start of a week of free events aimed at getting locals out in nature and learning about the world around them.

Local groups and organisations will be putting on a range of activities until June 4, with favourites including stream dipping, bat walks and nature trails all set to return.

The 2023 instalment will also include educational walks of Kenilworth old town courtesy of Warwickshire Geological Conservation Group.

The Week Will Include:

Monday 29 May

  • Flora, Fauna and Bees in Parliament Piece
  • Deep Time Travel through Kenilworth, Abbey Fields

Tuesday 30 May

  • TREEmendous Trees, Abbey Fields

Wednesday 31 May

  • Scavenger Hunt, Kenilworth Methodist Church
  • Flora and Fauna in Knowle Hill Nature Reserve

Thursday 1 June

  • Bird Song Walk, Kenilworth Common
  • Woodland Wildlife Walk, Crackley Common

Friday 2 June

  • Bird Walk, Castle Farm
  • Urban Geology Walk around Warwick, Market Hall Museum, Warwick

Saturday 3 June

  • Stream Dipping, Finham Brook
  • Moth Night, All Saints Church, Leek Wooton www.cv35.uk/moth
  • Bat Walk, Abbey Fields

Sunday 4 June

  • Cherishing Churchyards, All Saints Church, Leek Wooton
  • Wildflower walk
  • Demonstration of Bird Song App
  • Minibeast hunt

Speaking to Nub News when the event was announced, outgoing Mayor of Kenilworth Sam Louden-Cooke said to Nub News: "There are similar events to what we have had previously, but with some extra events added in.

"We have got the with a walk in the old town, which should be excellent. And they have said they will add in a second if there is enough demand. 

"We just want as many people to join in, have a really fantastic time and get stuck in really."
