Here is a roundup of the biggest decisions that have been made by the local councils in the last month.

Kenilworth Town Council

With details announced for the two Christmas light switch on events in Kenilworth this November, a Kenilworth councillor has questioned whether Christmas lights are appropriate during cost of living crisis.

It has also been revealed that KTC and Warwick District Council each believe the other should be footing the bill for the electricity.

Elsewhere a request to make a Kenilworth car park permit holders only has been turned down by council

And KTC members voted in favour of making donations to two local charities.

A volunteer-led counselling service and citizens advice were each given grants.

Warwick District Council

The council's 'flagship' hydrogen strategy was unanimously backed by cabinet at the start of the month.

In Kenilworth work is set to start on the Abbey Fields Swimming Pool project and the council has announced that the toddler play area will close on weekdays during the redevelopment

The new secondary school is expected to be the temporary community facilities for a 550-house estate being built in the town.

Another Kenilworth park which is earmarked for council investment has had a public consultation launched this month.

And the leader of the district council has said now is not the time for a general election despite the resignation of Liz Truss as prime minister on Thursday (October 20)

WDC has also imposed an article four direction on the Castle Pavilions site meaning residents have until the end of November to have their say on a public consultation.

And the council has back a petition to reduce pesticide use across the district, while also declaring an ecological emergency,

Warwickshire County Council

The council has announced this month that £800,000 has been spent on 170 new EV charging points across Warwickshire in recent years.

While a launch event was held at Kenilworth Library following first refurbishment in nearly 20 years.

And the council has announced a series of 'pop-up' youth events that will be run from two vans which are being driver across the county.
