Aerial photographs show progress of Castle Farm demolition
Fantastic aerial photographs have shown the progress of Castle Farm's demolition.
AR Demolition began knocking down the sports centre at the end of June, with the works expected to take four weeks.
A new multi-million pound facility will then be built by Kier on behalf of Warwick District Council.
Much of the Castle Farm site is currently cordoned off, but police have already issued warnings about teenagers trespassing and climbing over the fences.
Residents can still access the fields, the BMX track and the children's play area as well as a few of the parking spaces.
Michael Henderson MD of AR commented: "We are pleased to be involved in the enabling works for this new leisure centre for the area, preparing the old site for the next phase of development."
Work on the site - which has been closed by December - was delayed by "negotiations and re-costing" which were blamed on "soaring building costs and supply chain issues" by the district council.
Contracts for the demolition and rebuilding of Abbey Fields are yet to be signed.
Leader of WDC, Cllr Andrew Day added: "We are delighted to have reached another milestone and are now looking forward to the commencement of construction of these wonderful new facilities in a matter of weeks."
Whilst the works continue a local pub landlord has allowed residents to turn half of his car park into a petanque pitch.
The new facility will include a sports hall, 80 station gym and fitness studios as well as a new base for local scouts and guides.
