Joe Wright's injury time volley made sure that all three points stayed at Gypsy Lane as Kenilworth Sporting held on to beat Lane Head.
With late goals inspiring a seven-game unbeaten run in the league, Kenilworth now sit fifth in the Midland Football League Division Two, 11 points behind leaders Knowle.
And despite nearly throwing away all three points with a performance that was 'not our best' in the eyes of manager Martin Ascroft, the youthful Kenilworth side showed great resilience to grind out another win.
"We were not at our best today, we started very well but we seemed to just switch off and stopped playing how we asked the boys to play," he said after the full time whistle.
But the last gasp winner does propel Kenilworth into fifth in the Midland Football League Division Two a
Kenilworth got off to the best possible start as Jack Low opened the scoring on eight minutes. Neat approach play from Harry Wilson allowed him to cross for Low who beat his man and fired a shot which was saved by Jack Arnold in the Lane Head goal.
But Low was on hand to tap in the rebound to put the hosts ahead.
Sporting then doubled their lead on 20 minutes when Lane Head centre back Callum Bright headed another Wilson cross into his own net.
Kenilworth then began to falter and allowed the away side back into the game. A corner from the left found Luke Georgiou free at the back post to head home just before the break.
Kenilworth were better in the second half and played all the football but spurning a number of chances to restore their two goal advantage.
With 15 minutes left Lane Head then punished them for those mistakes when another corner was not properly dealt with and a poor clearance was hit by Lucas Hough through the crowded box and into the back of the Kenilworth net.
But as with so many times this season Kenilworth found a late goal. Cameron Welch and substitute Joe Taylor combined well down the left and a ball into the box was volleyed home by Wright from six yards to clinch the victory.
Despite the shakiness of Kenilworth at times Ascroft said his team deserved the win.
"In my opinion we were the better side overall and on another day we could have scored five or six. We do have a great attitude for such a young side and we keep playing until the final whistle, to get another goal so late in a game is not luck, we have done it on four or five occasions now."
