Kenilworth Wardens produced a comfortable 3-0 win against Shilton Reserves in the Peter Toogood Cup to set up a semi final clash with Balsall and Berkswell Hornets.
With Wardens' pitch waterlogged the hosts were forced to hire Stockton's pitch for their 'home' match.
Quickly the game fell into a familiar pattern with Shilton dropping all 11 men behind the ball and Wardens keeping possession.
Kenilworth's first chance came from a long ball forward from Jack Skelcey which left Ben Edmunds one-on-one with the keeper only for the Wardens youngster to put the ball wide.
But it was Edmunds who did open the scoring on 30 minutes. A Ryan Ward long free kick was cleverly flicked on by James Carro to Edmunds, who cut in from the left, beating two players before passing the ball into the corner of the net with his weaker right foot.
After half time Shilton came out on the front foot, immediately hitting a good chance over the bar.
Wardens were indebted to Andy Whitehouse for making a string of brilliant saves. The first tipping a bullet strike from the edge of the box onto the bar.
A few minutes later he managed to turn another good strike onto the post with his finger tips, before getting back up and excellently blocking what appeared to be a tap in.
But on 70 minutes Wardens killed the game off. Edmunds received the ball from Mark Hickey, beat three players down the line and crossed to Jamie Compton for a simple tap in.
Shortly after Hickey had a great chance to get the goal his play deserved, however his powerful effort was hit straight at the Shilton keeper.
As Shilton went down to 10 men following an injury to one of their substitutes, Edmunds sealed the performance with the last kick of the game. Ward won possession and released Edmunds through the middle, he beat the onrushing keeper to the ball, then beat a second man before passing in from a tight angle.
Speaking after the game, manager Adam Maltby said: "Today was enjoyable overall, I'm delighted with the clean sheet.
"They came flying out the blocks in the second half and Andy's made two good saves and they've struck the woodwork, but in fairness we controlled the first half and the last 25 minutes.
"Ben was great coming in with two goals and an assist and potentially could have had one more.
"Looking forward to what should be a great semi final against a good Balsall side."
