Luke Steer starred as Kenilworth Sporting made if four wins on the bounce as they hammered Bolehall Swifts 5-0 at Gypsy Lane.
After not playing the previous week due to Cadbury Athletic's facilities not being up to league standards, Sporting manager Martin Ascroft was worried his young side might be a bit rusty and the momentum had been stopped.
But he couldn't have been more wrong as Steer settled the nerves for Kenilworth early with a fine right finish on seven minutes.
Sporting didn't have to wait too much longer for a second when on 28 minutes a Steer turned provider as his corner was met by a towering Tierney header into the back of the net.
On 42 minutes Steer was on hand again to finish past the Bolehall keeper to take Kenilworth into the break 3-0 up.
The hosts maintained their dominance into the second 45.
On 64 mins, pressure from Steer and Freeman caused a stray back pass by the Bolehall centre half which was only part cleared by the keeper to Freeman who managed to slot it through the keeper and men on the line.
With Kenilworth pushing very hard to get another goal it only seemed a matter of time before they did.
Sixteen year old Mason Platts came off the bench to complete a fantastic Kenilworth display. He picked up the ball 30 yards out and drove at the very tired Bolehall defence, beat two defenders before driving a low hard shot past the keeper to open his goal scoring account with Kenilworth.
Speaking after the game Ascroft praised the commitment and performance of his young players.
"I am delighted with the fourth win on the bounce," he said.
"We looked very good today, played some excellent football at times, clean sheets are always nice but I'm more excited that at one point we had eight players on the pitch under the age of 20.
"Two very tough away games coming up, we are looking forward to the games though."
