A late Dan Twigger goal saw Kenilworth Wardens edge past Jet Blades to record just a third league win of the season.
The hosts had lost 3-1 against Copsewood the week before in a game they missed over a dozen chances and made poor mistakes for goals.
Wardens started against Blades in a similar fashion as the week before, dominating but failing to score.
Within 10 minutes Wardens thought they had taken the lead when a mazy run in the box by Jack Boden ended with his shot looking like he would hit the back of the net but instead hit the post. Moment later Alex Bradley narrowly missed a free header from a corner.
Shortly after Eamonn Richards played in Harrison Wright however Blades goalkeeper Ethan Murray, on his debut following a transfer from league rivals RS Sports, made an excellent save to deny the youngster.
Richards played Twigger in moments later but again Murray made a save to keep things level. Twigger came close again three minutes later, this time being played in by Bradley before he rounded Murray, but could not finish from the tight angle.
On 30 minutes Murray made the save of the half when a Boden corner was met excellently by James Brewitt at the back post only for his powerful header to be tipped onto the bar by Murray for the save of the half.
Tom Day in the Wardens goal did not have a lot to do, but was called into action when an overhit cross was dipping into the top corner, however Day made an excellent stop to push the ball away.
As well as the clear cut chances Wardens had been unable to convert, Boden, Twigger, Harrison and Sol Bloomer had opened up Blades defence on countless occasions, however were often stopped by brilliant last ditch defending.
Within a minute of the restart Blades had their best chance of the game where their striker rode a challenge from Alex Cockburn before having a free shot six yards out, however managed to put the ball over the bar.
On 60 minutes a long ball from Tom Day put Twigger through on goal, his trademark powerful shot was heading for the top corner when a fingertip save my Murray managed to turn it onto the crossbar.
With momentum leaving Wardens players they improved in both energy and ball retention with subs of Roger Kingston, Diarmuid Winston and Adam Hnat coming off the bench.
They were nearly rewarded quickly when an excellent move found Sol Bloomer in the box, he beat two players but his shot went narrowly wide.
On 70 minutes great play from Winston and Kingston found Twigger in the box, who turned and shot from a tight angle however his effort cannoned off the crossbar, the third time they'd be stopped by the woodwork.
With seven minutes left of the game a Day goal kick was flicked on by Brewitt to Twigger. Twigger raced through and his powerful shot again hit the post but this time hit the back of the net, finally beating Murray in goal.
Wardens ran out the time without allowing a shot in the final minutes.
"Positives was obviously the three points, the performance levels and the fifth clean sheet of the season - most clean sheets we've had in a season since we restarted seven years ago," player-manager Richards said after the game.
"Negatives is that we've had 30 good chances to score in last two matches and only scored two goals.
"Their keeper was the man of the match today, as was Copsewoods the week before. As soon as we start turning the chance conversion stats higher we'll be beating any team we come against if we keep playing at the same level.
"Performance wise, really positive though. Subs were all excellent as always. That back four (Alex Waters, Cockburn, Bradley and James Butler) have played together 5 times so far this year and we've won all those games conceding once.
"Next week will be a tough game (against Dunlop) but perform defensively like today gives us a chance to beat anyone."
