Despite some recent extremes of weather, a local croquet club has said its lawns are in "tip top condition" and are ready to use.

Competition leagues officially begin at Kenilworth Tennis Squash and Croquet Club on 10 April.

The Crackley Lane club also hosts social games on Mondays and Thursdays and is encouraging locals to come and try the game for themselves.

"Looking for a fun and challenging new hobby? Try croquet and discover the joy of this classic lawn game," a club spokesperson said.

"All equipment is supplied and no experience is necessary."

Last summer the club secured the West Midlands Golf Croquet League title clinching first place at home to Church Stretton.

The Crackley Lane club is also currently constructing two new padel courts on site. Work started at the beginning of January.
