Henry Curran's 70 was not enough to help Kenilworth reach Coventry & North Warwickshire's total of 229, as the visitors fell short by just 33 runs.
On the hottest day of the year so far, the hosts won the toss and elected to bat first, with the top order making a lot of runs in perfect batting conditions.
Kenilworth found early wickets hard to come by, and spin proved most effective for Kenilworth with Connor Shingler (3-34) and Darius Potten-Ravenshad (2-30) providing the best returns.
Two wickets a piece for Joe Atkinson and Stu Cope helped restrict the hosts with Paul Lawrence taking the remaining wicket, to set a target of 230 to win.
Batting was made difficult for Kenilworth's top four, with just Stu Cope (30) making over 20.
However a top score of the season, of 70, for number five Curran helped drag the visitors back into the game.
But with wickets falling around him, only Adam Huxford (19) made double figures from the lower order and the side eventually fell 33 short, with three overs remaining, 196 all out.
Patel and Ikram each taking three wickets for the hosts.
Kenilworth drop to fourth in the WCL Division 2.
