Kenilworth Cricket Club's Sunday XI recorded a six-wicket win over Hockley Heath yesterday as the rain continued to affect the weekend's play.
KCC's Saturday sides were also interrupted by the weather, as only the third XI managed to complete both innings the day before.
In a 40 overs friendly match Hockley Heath (130 for nine) lost to Kenilworth (134 for four) by six wickets.
Kenilworth chased down Hockley 130-run total with 12 overs to spare thanks to an unbeaten 50 from opener Henry Curran. He reached his half century and the side's target score in style as he blasted the ball for a six to give the home side the win.
Hockley' Ahmed (52), Akbal (21) and Majid (12) were to thank for reaching their total but the trio were the only batsmen to reach double figures for the away side.
Of the eight town bowlers used, Jon Mortlock was the pick taking three for six off six frugal overs whilst Louis Smithson, Pat O'Reilly, Will Sheehan and Sam Leach each took a wicket with two run outs accounting for the other wickets to fall.
Kenilworth's reply started slowly as they found themselves at 29 for three. However, they recovered as Curran teamed up with Leach and the pair put on 61 runs for the fourth wicket. Leach departed on 30.
It was then left to Smithson to partner Curran with the duo putting on a further 44 runs together before Curran hit the winning runs as the side reached 134 for four in the 27th over.
Smithson made an unbeaten 17 after Hockley's Majid had earlier taken two for two.
The Sunday first XI Arden Sunday League match at Coombs Wood had been cancelled due to the rainy conditions in Halesowen.
