More disruption is coming to local roads this weekend for HS2 works.

National Highways has confirmed the M42 will be closed between junctions 6 and 9 in both directions across the weekend.

This will be in place from 9pm on Friday 14 August until 5am on Monday 17 August.

The closures are needed so workers can safely continue installing beams for the M42 Motorway Box in Solihull.

It is the latest in a series of weekend closures for the motorway.

National Highways said a fully signed diversion route will be in place throughout the weekend closure period to help motorists navigate the area.

Residents living nearby may also notice some low-level noise from the construction sites while the work is being carried out.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for journeys and check traffic conditions before travelling during the closure period.
