I've always been fascinated with monkey puzzle trees. And the superstition and folklore that surrounds them. This prehistoric alien-like tree with its fierce prickles and spiky leaves, which evolved not to deter monkeys, but the grazing dinosaurs of the Mesozoic era, 250 million years ago.

With temperatures set to remain above 5C this week, and snow looking unlikely for this year, we have put together a gallery of images of Abbey Fields during the White Christmas of 2010

2010 saw a few instances of snow in the lead up to Christmas, with smatterings hitting Coventry, Warwick and Kenilworth in the last week of November. The first large snowfall came on the night of Monday, December 6, with residents waking up to a blanket of snow over Kenilworth on Tuesday 7.
