Richard Spencer has been elected as the new town councillor for Kenilworth St John's Ward today, meaning that the Conservative Party now has three seats on the council.

Cllr Spencer received 901 votes in an election which had a turnout of 49 per cent. Alison Insley took the second most votes (670), on behalf of the Liberal Democrats.

A new Mayor of Kenilworth was elected by the town council this week, as Cllr Peter Jones has become Kenilworth's first citizen for the coming 12 months.
