The Conservatives have strengthened their hold on Warwickshire County Council with their leader saying the party will 'continue to deliver common sense politics'.

Cllr Izzi Seccombe spoke after retaining her seat in the south of the county and reflected on an excellent day at the polls as they increased their majority, securing 42 of the 57 seats – six more than in the 2017 election.

Cllr Peter Jones (insert) will be the Mayor of Kenilworth until May 2022

A new Mayor of Kenilworth was unanimously elected at last night's (May 4) annual meeting of the town council.

Green Party Councillor Peter Jones was unanimously approved by fellow councillors. Cllr Jones, 73, was first elected to Kenilworth Town Council in 2019 and has served as deputy mayor for the past 12 months.
